DOJ appeals for info on June 15 killing of a House official
The Department of Justice (DOJ) on Tuesday, June 17, appealed to those who have information on the killing of an official of the House of Representatives to come forward.
Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin C. Remulla said the information “no matter how small” will be crucial in the success of the investigation.
Remulla’s appeal was aired following the killing last June 15 of Mauricio “Morrie” Pulhin, 63, the chief of technical staff of the House Committee on Ways and Means.
Pulhin was shot by unidentified gunmen during his daughter’s birthday party in Barangay Commonwealth, Quezon City.
Remulla said the DOJ condemns the killing of Pulhin and has vowed to run after those behind the murder.
This Department has the full capability and unyielding resolve to pursue and capture those responsible,” he declared.
He also said the DOJ has been working hand-in-hand with the Philippine National Police and the National Bureau of Investigation in the investigation and capture of those responsible.
He added that the DOJ does not take cases lightly, especially when targeted victims are those in public service.
