Valenzuela LGU provides initial aid to fire-affected families

The Valenzuela City government quickly extended initial assistance to families affected by a fire on Friday, June 6.

The families were given modular tents as their temporary shelters at the Karuhatan West Elementary School evacuation center.

According to TXTFIRE Philippines, the blaze broke out Friday afternoon at a residential-commercial building that also served as a warehouse in Arty Subdivision, Barangay Marulas.

The fire was reported at 1:58 p.m., escalated to the second alarm by 2:09 p.m., and reached the third alarm at 2:37 p.m. It was extinguished at 7:03 p.m.

As of this writing, authorities were still investigating the cause of the fire.

The number of affected families and the estimated damage are yet to be determined.
