The accident happened on a two-lane flyover on Gov. Cuenco Ave.
Police Lt. Col. Jomar Medil, chief of the Traffic Enforcement Unit (TEU) of the Cebu City Police Office, said Curiba was running at high speed when he overtook another vehicle.
As he was about to overtake, Curiba encroached the opposite lane where he collided with the oncoming pickup truck driven by Carmelo Abao Inocando, a 48-year-old resident of Barangay Talamban, Cebu City.
Inocando was taken to the TEU office after the incident and was released after the victim’s family decided not to file charges against him.
