Authorities have located the severed head of a man whose body was discovered floating in the river beneath the old bridge in San Rafael, Bulacan on Tuesday, May 20.
The Bulacan Provincial Police Office (PPO) said the head was found the following afternoon, on Wednesday, May 21, in a bamboo-covered section of the river in Barangay Salapungan.
Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) immediately processed the evidence in an effort to establish the victim's identity and uncover any leads regarding the incident.
Lt. Col. Protom Guevarra, acting chief of San Rafael police, said investigations are ongoing to solve the crime.
He urged residents of nearby towns who may have missing family members or housemates to visit their station for possible identification of the victim.
Guevarra also encouraged anyone with knowledge of the perpetrator's whereabouts to report immediately to the nearest police station.
The headless body was first discovered by residents passing by the bridge on Tuesday.
