Department of Health (DOH) Secretary Teodoro “Ted” Herbosa said he has submitted his courtesy resignation to President Marcos, expressing full support for the administration’s ongoing performance review of cabinet members and government agencies.
“In full support of the ongoing performance review of all Cabinet members and government agencies, I have respectfully offered the President my courtesy resignation,” Herbosa said in a statement issued on Thursday, May 22.
The health chief said it was “an immense honor to serve the Filipino people as the 30th Secretary of Health,” and thanked the Chief Executive “for the privilege.”
As such, Herbosa underscored his continued support for the administration’s efforts to improve healthcare access nationwide.
“I remain wholeheartedly a supporter of the Government as it continues to bring healthcare closer to our people across all of our islands,” he added.
Herbosa is the latest cabinet official to heed Marcos’ call for courtesy resignations, following the outcome of the May 2025 midterm elections.
