For the first time, the celebrated Guimaras mango, the only Philippine product currently recognized with a Geographical Indication (GI), is available for direct-to-door delivery in Metro Manila, thanks to a nationwide push supported by several government agencies and logistics partners.
From farm to doorstep: How Filipinos can now order the world-famous Guimaras mangoes online
DTI, PHLPost, and private partners team up to deliver GI-certified Guimaras mangoes directly to Metro Manila homes during Manggahan Festival 2025
As part of the vibrant Manggahan Festival 2025, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), in collaboration with the Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost), has launched a new campaign allowing consumers to order boxes of these premium mangoes online. The initiative is a significant step in bridging the gap between the island’s mango growers and urban markets, showcasing both innovation and cultural pride.
This initiative was announced through official Facebook posts by the DTI, PHLPost, and other partner agencies.
Ordering the mangoes
From May 16 to 25, customers within the National Capital Region can scan a QR code made available through official DTI and PHLPost channels to place their orders. Each box, priced at ₱1,500, includes delivery by PHLPost and contains fresh mangoes harvested directly from Guimaras.
These efforts are coordinated alongside the Guimaras Mango Growers and Producers Development Cooperative and the provincial government of Guimaras.
Backed by national logistics
This mango delivery campaign is part of a broader supply chain initiative led by DTI Region VI, including its Guimaras office and the Supply Chain and Logistics Group. Several national and private sector partners are working together to bring Guimaras’ GI-certified mangoes to more consumers. Airspeed is helping expand the mangoes’ market reach, exploring opportunities in broader export markets. FAST Logistics is showcasing the fruit’s exceptional quality at the upcoming 2025 International Food Exhibition (IFEX) Philippines. Meanwhile, Shopee and LBC Express Inc. are making the mangoes accessible to online shoppers nationwide, under the “Christine Guimaras GI mangoes” brand. Together, these collaborations demonstrate a strong and unified effort to elevate a regional agricultural treasure to national and international prominence.
National pride in a fruit
Guimaras mangoes have long been regarded for their exceptional sweetness and quality, attributed to the island’s unique soil and climate. Their Geographical Indication status sets them apart, not just as a commodity, but as a product of cultural and agricultural heritage. The recognition protects the authenticity and integrity of mangoes grown in Guimaras, offering assurance to consumers about their origin and quality.
DTI describes the fruit as a “national treasure” and expresses gratitude to its logistics and e-commerce partners for helping bring this initiative to life.
For more information or to place an order, consumers are encouraged to follow official DTI Region VI and PHLPost social media channels.
