The family of a man who was shot to death by his neighbor after being mistaken for a thief in Barangay Maybunga, Pasig City, is calling for justice.

The victim’s live-in partner took to Facebook to express her grief and appeal for justice for Nano, saying his life was taken due to a wrongful accusation.
“Sa [isang] iglap kinuha yung buhay mo ng iba tao, [nang] dahil lang sa maling akala nagawa nila kunin yung buhay mo, Nano!! Magkakahustisya ka, pangako, kahit sa kahuli-hulihan, Ipaglalaban ka pa din namen! Mahal ka namen lahat! (In an instant, someone took your life, just because of a wrong assumption. Nano! You will get justice, I promise. Until the very end, we will keep fighting for you! We all love you!), she said.
She also shared that she never imagined herself appealing for justice on social media like others do, but said she is doing it for their two-year-old child, who will now grow up without a father.
“Sana makamit natin ang hustisya na para sayo!! Wag mo patulugin yung mga tao [na] pumatay sayo ng wala kalaban-laban!! Hustisya para kay nano! (May we achieve the justice you deserve! Do not let those who killed you get away without facing consequences! Justice for Nano!),” she stated.
In a TV interview, she said the suspect claimed Nano was on their roof and was carrying a hammer. However, witnesses said he was simply outside the suspect's house and searching for something. CCTV footage also showed that Nano was not carrying any weapon.
She firmly denied the accusation against Nano, saying, "Hindi po magnanakaw ang partner ko kahit itanong n'yo pa sa buong Maybunga, damay n'yo na rito sa lugar ko sa Bambang (He is not a thief. You can ask anyone in Maybunga, even here in our place in Bambang)."
