Comelec to suspend proclamation of Marcy Teodoro, 18 other candidates facing DQ cases

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) announced that the proclamation of at least 19 candidates, including Marikina City Mayor Marcy Teodoro, will be suspended if they win in the 2025 midterm elections, due to pending disqualification cases against them.
Comelec has said that while the votes for these candidates will still be counted, no formal proclamation will be made until the poll body resolves the legal questions surrounding their eligibility.
Among those named are candidates from various positions—congressional, mayoral, gubernatorial, vice-gubernatorial, and even local councilors.
Congressional candidates:
• Christian Sia
• Matt Florido
• Marcy Teodoro
• Philip Fortuno
Mayoral and vice mayoral candidates:
• Fatima Salih
• Belshezzar Abubakar
• Aquino Romato
• Jeryll Respicio
• Ricardo Yanson
• Mando Taha
Gubernatorial and vice gubernatorial candidates:
• Ronald Rodriguez
• Gerardo Noveras and/or Christine Noveras
• Christian Noveras
Councilor candidates:
• Darwin Sia
• Menandro Buenafe
• James Macasero
• Dani Mando
• Isaias Noveras
More details are expected to be released in the coming days as the poll body finalizes its resolutions on the disqualification petitions.
