Chinese brand Jaecoo is set to introduce its latest model, the J7 SHS. The vehicle, powered by the company’s proprietary Super Hybrid System (SHS), was previewed at the 2025 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS), with exclusive test drives scheduled for April 11 to 13 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.

The SHS combines a 204 PS electric motor with Jaecoo's 5th-generation 1.5-liter TDGI DHT hybrid engine. Together, these produce a total output of 347 PS and peak torque of 525 Nm, figures comparable to that of a conventional 3.0-liter turbocharged engine. The system allows for multiple driving modes, including Full Electric, Series Hybrid, Parallel Hybrid, and Energy Recovery.

During a verification test conducted by the Automobile Association Philippines in February 2025, the J7 SHS achieved a range of 1,488.8 kilometers on a full tank and one full battery charge, exceeding its rated range of 1,200+ km. The vehicle can also drive up to 106 km on pure electric mode alone. Fuel consumption is rated at 4.1 liters per 100 kilometers, thanks in part to engine technologies such as the Deep Miller cycle, Intelligent High Efficiency Combustion (i-HEC), and regenerative braking.

The lithium-ion battery powering the SHS system has a capacity of 18.3 kWh. According to Jaecoo, it can charge from 30% to 80% in just 20 minutes. The battery is also built to withstand extreme temperatures, operating within a range of -35°C to 60°C.

Inside, it offers a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.8-inch infotainment touchscreen. An intelligent voice assistant can be activated by saying "Hello, Jaecoo." The infotainment system supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, ensuring seamless smartphone integration. Additional amenities include a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control with rear vents, and heated and ventilated front seats, enhancing overall comfort.

It is also equipped with Bosch's IPB intelligent braking system, which activates within 0.1 seconds, and a Driver Monitoring System (DMS) alongside a 360° HD panoramic camera with under-chassis view.

"We are excited to build off the momentum from our brand launch last February with the preview of the upcoming Jaecoo J7 SHS at this year’s MIAS," OMODA and Jaecoo Philippines said in a statement. "The Super Hybrid System technology is the brand’s latest engineering DNA that is set to evolve users’ driving experience. And we are proud to debut this automotive engineering marvel at the 2025 MIAS. We are confident that Filipinos will love the Jaecoo J7 SHS."

The J7 SHS is expected to arrive in the Philippines by May 2025 and will be offered in Premium and Comfort variants, both priced under P1.7 million.
