A fire station will be built in Katarungan Village in Barangay Poblacion, Muntinlupa.
The groundbreaking ceremony for the Katarungan Fire Station was attended by Fire Supt. Rowena Gollod of the Muntinlupa City Fire Station, Mayor Ruffy Biazon and Enrico Turingan Jr., president of the Katarungan Village Homeowners Association.
The new fire station will enhance the city’s capacity to respond to emergencies in the area, the Muntinlupa City Fire Station said.
Katarungan Village is a housing project of the Department of Justice, occupying more than 100 hectares of the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) reservation.

Gollod became Muntinlupa’s first female city fire marshal in March 2024. Under her leadership, the Muntinlupa City Fire Station became the first to fully utilize local funds from fire code fees.
The Muntinlupa City Fire Station has acquired a 1,000-gallon fire truck, a new vehicle, and advanced rescue and medical equipment.
Gollod also implemented the creation and training of Sitio Community Fire Auxiliary Groups (CFAGs) in fire-prone areas in Muntinlupa. The volunteer groups act as initial responders to minimize the impact of fires and other disasters while waiting for trained emergency personnel to arrive.
In the past year, the Muntinlupa City Fire Station was named the Best City Fire Station, the Best Performing City Fire Station, and the Most Improved City in terms of reducing fire incidents.
Gollod received commendations from the Muntinlupa City government for the creation of the Sitio CFAG program and recertification of the ISO 9001-2015 standard. She was also honored with Bureau of Fire Protection medals, including the Medalya ng Papuri, Medalya ng Kasanayan, and Medalya ng Kagalingan.
