Headed by Mayor Marjorie “Joie” Perales, Toledo will become the first local government unit (LGU) in Cebu to benefit from the national government housing program.

A Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was signed on March 14 between the Toledo LGU, Pag-IBIG Fund, and the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD).

Leading the MOA signing were Perales, Toledo Vice Mayor Jay Sigue, DHSUD Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar, and  Pag-IBIG Deputy CEO Alexander Aguilar.

In a Facebook post, the DHSUD said the 3,000 condo-type units in Toledo will have open spaces, parking lots, and other facilities.

Eastland Propery Ventures Inc. is constructing a 10-story condominium building in Barangay  Canlumampao.

“We want to ensure that every family in Toledo will have an affordable and decent home,” said Perales.

Perales encouraged her constituents to apply for a house  with DHSUD.

Only  qualified Toledo residents can avail of the housing program after an evaluation.

During the MOA signing, Acuzar admitted that owning a house is a big challenge for every Filipino.

He said through the 4PH program, owning a house will be easier.
