Taytay jailbreak: 3 escapees back behind bars in Rizal


The Taytay Police Station announced on Wednesday, September 4, that it has re-arrested the three inmates who escaped from the station's custodial facility during the onslaught of Tropical Storm Enteng.

The escapees, identified as Danny Boy Cancino, Kurt Cavasal, and Ronald Barrera, all tagged as Persons Under Police Custody (PUPC), are now back behind bars.

Authorities stated that Cancino and Barrera are facing charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, while Cavasal is facing charges for violating Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.

They expressed their gratitude to the public for its cooperation in providing information on the escapees' whereabouts, which led to their re-arrest.

“Kami ay lubos na nagpapasalamat sa ating mga netizens sa inyong pakikipagtulungan na mapalaganap ang impormasyon at makarating sa kaalaman ng mga nasasangkot na indibidwal na sila ay pinaghahanap di lamang ng kapulisan kundi pati na rin ng buong bayan (We are deeply grateful to our netizens for your cooperation in spreading the information, which reached the involved individuals, making them aware that they were being sought not only by the police but by the entire community as well),” the police said.
