PBA cager John Amores yields in Laguna, hours after viral shooting incident


LUMBAN, Laguna -- Philippine Basketball Association  player John Amores surrrendered with his brother  to the police here before dawn on Thursday, September 26, hours following their involvement in a shooting incident that went viral online in Barangay Maytalang Uno, this town, on Wednesday afternoon, September 25.

Amores and his brother surrendered around 2 a.m. However, they refused to gave their side.

Police are set to file an attempted murder case against the Amoreses.

John, a resident of Barangay Sampaloc, Pagsanjan, Laguna, and the victim, Lee Calcada, businessman and resident of Barangay Maytalang Uno, were playing basketball in Barangay  Salac when a heated argument erupted and John challenged Calcada to a fistfight.

John and his brother boarded a motorcycle and the victim followed them until they reached Barangay Maytalang Uno where John, who plays for the Northport Batang Pier, drew a gun  and fired at Cacada. John missed the victim, 

John returned to their motorcycle and fled towards the direction of Pagsanjan, Laguna.

The shooting incident was caught on surveillance camera.
