According to an initial report from Lumban Municipal police station, Amores allegedly chased and shot the victim, identified as Lee Calcada at around 6:10 p.m. after they got into an altercation in an earlier basketball game.

A CCTV footage of the incident immediately made rounds on social media with Amores shown getting off a motorcycle and firing shots toward the victim who fortunately was not hurt in the incident.

According to the same report, Amores and Calcada were playing in a basketball game at Brgy. Salac when they got into a heated altercation and the PBA player challenged Calcada to fist fight.

Calcada reportedly followed Amores at Brgy. Maytalang Uno where he was shot by the PBA player using a still unidentified type of firearm.

A hot pursuit operation was already launched against Amores who immediately fled after the incident.

It was not the first time that the embattled player got into such a controversy having been involved in a punching spree during an NCAA game back in 2022.

Then playing for the Jose Rizal University, Amores went on a rampage and charged toward the bench of College of St. Benilde which eventually led to his expulsion from JRU and an indefinite suspension from the league.

He got a new lease of life when he was picked 51st by NorthPort in the PBA Season 48 rookie draft. Amores seemed to be a changed man during his stint with the Batang Pier, averaging 5.1 points in Governors' Cup, until his involvement.

NorthPort, which signed Amores to a one-year deal before the start of the season, was already made aware of the incident but refused to make comments as the investigation is still ongoing.
