Jeepneys turn pink: Here's why everyone's talking about it

If you’ve been around the city lately, you might have noticed something unusual—pink jeepneys popping up along busy routes. These vibrant jeepneys aren’t just eye-catching; they’re offering free rides on two routes: Cubao to Marikina and Monumento to EDSA Rotonda.

What’s behind this festive surprise? It’s part of Foodpanda’s new Christmas campaign, designed to bring fun and convenience to commuters.

“When you think Foodpanda, you think food and fun,” said Patricia Jacinto, Foodpanda Philippines Director of Growth and Marketing. “We wanted to bring that spirit of joy and energy throughout the festive season, whether you’re commuting or enjoying a meal at home.”

Foodpanda has also launched a new TV commercial featuring a group of hungry office workers who break into a lively “foodots” dance— a playful mix of “food” and the local dance style “budots.” The fun doesn’t stop there, as influencers have joined in, sparking a TikTok trend with their best “foodots” moves.
