Sogetsu Manila began with an exhibition at a popular five-star hotel in Manila in 1989. The exhibited floral arrangements were made after a series of workshops handled by a professor sent by the Sogetsu headquarters in Japan. The Manila branch holds a yearly exhibit of Ikebana Sogetsu arrangements made by its members.
