Carelon Global Solutions Philippines is targeting to hire an additional workforce of 500 personnel for two of its sites here where at least 3,800 are employed.
“By the end of the year, we will be exceeding the 4,000-mark and making us the largest healthcare provider BPO in Western Visayas,” said Chief Country Executive Nicki Agcaoili.
The expansion is part of this year’s target to increase Carelon’s workforce by 10,000 in all its four sites, two of which are in Metro Manila.
The expansion here also backs the campaign by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-6 to make Western Visayas the capital for Healthcare Information Management Service (HIMS).
Last year, DTI-6 announced a target to have at least 30 HIMS companies in Western Visayas.
The expansion will also focus on prioritizing benefits for employees under the “It Starts with Care” program.
“It means we take care of employees through growth and learning opportunities, impactful perks and benefits, as well as meaningful programs like those that educate about and embrace Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) into the workforce,” said Judy Murillo, Carelon regional head.
Aside from hiring PWDs, Murillo said that they are also employing senior citizens.
The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry-Iloilo chapter welcomed the expansion, saying the move will benefit the growing BPO industry here.
