Marcos: Yulo's gold is just the first for PH in Paris Games

President Marcos is confident that the Philippines is just starting, as he congratulated gymnast Carlos Yulo for bagging the country's first Gold Medal in the 2024 Paris Olympics late Saturday, August 3 (Manila time).

Marcos said this after the "Golden Boy" delivered a flawless routine in the final of the menโs artistic gymnastic floor exercise, garnering a score of 15.000.
In a Facebook post, the President said the country is proud of the young Filipino Olympian.
"Weโve witnessed history as Carlos Yulo clinched the Philippinesโ first ๐๐ข๐๐ medal in artistic gymnastics at the ๐๐๐ง๐๐จ ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ฐ ๐๐ก๐ฎ๐ข๐ฅ๐๐๐จ," he wrote.
"I am confident that it will not be the last," he added.
"Congratulations, Caloy! The entire country stands proud with you!" he continued.
First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos likewise congratulated Yulo via a Facebook post, saying she got goosebumps when the Olympics played the Philippine National Anthem.
"Congratulations Carlos Yulo! You gave us the first ๐๐ข๐๐ ๐ ๐๐๐๐ at the Paris Olympics 2024! ย Woo hoo!!" she wrote.
"Got goosebumps as ๐๐ถ๐ฑ๐ข๐ฏ๐จ ๐๐ช๐ฏ๐ช๐ณ๐ข๐ฏ๐จ ย played at the arena! We are so proud of you!," she added. ย
