The Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD)--dominant political party jn the House of Representatives--has recently welcomed its 104th and 105fh member in the lower chamber.
Taking their oath of membership on Tuesday, Aug. 27 were Cagayan 1st district Rep. Ramon Nolasco Jr. and San Juan City lone district Rep. Maria Ysabel Zamora.
No less than House Speaker Martin Romualdez, Lakas-CMD president, administered the oath-taking. He said he was happy that Nolasco and Zamora chose to join Lakas-CMD.
The House--which Romualdez leads--has 307 active members. This means that Lakas-CMD stalwarts comprise more than a third of the House members.

Romualdez, Leyte's 1st district representative, said the growing membership of his party “translates into widening support in Congress and in the grassroots level for President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. and his Agenda for Prosperity and Bagong Pilipinas".
The affiliation of Nolasco and Zamora followed the recent oath-taking of Benguet lone district Rep. Eric Yap and Benguet Governor Melchor Diclas, Manila City Mayor Honey Lacuna, Manila 3rd district Rep. Joel Chua, Isabela 2nd district Rep. Ed Christopher Go, and former Marikina City 2nd district Rep. Miro Quimbo.
