Shiela Guo faces deportation for 'fraudulent acquisition' of Philippine passport -- BI

Shiela L. Guo, sister of dismissed Mayor Alice L. Guo of Bamban, Tarlac,  faces deportation for having acquired fraudulently a Philippine passport, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) said on Sunday, Aug. 25.

“Her actual deportation, however, will be suspended pending resolution of all her criminal cases and other liabilities in the country,” the BI said in a statement.

“Guo (Shiela) faces a deportation case with the BI for undesirability and possible misrepresentation as a Filipino national,” It said.

It explained that “Shiela was found to have a valid Chinese passport under the name Zhang Mier,” as it noted that she has a Chinese passport that is valid until 2031.

Shiela and Katherine Cassandra Ong returned to the Philippines last Aug. 22 following their arrest in Indonesia by local authorities there.

The two women are currently in the custody of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) which is set to file criminal complaints against them before the Department of Justice (DOJ) on Tuesday, Aug. 27.

The BI said that “Ong, being a Filipino citizen, was arrested by the NBI on charges related to a possible criminal case.”
