The Antipolo City government has announced that Persons With Disability (PWDs), senior citizens, solo, parents and 4Ps beneficiaries may avail of the rice that is being sold for ₱29 per kilo of at the Farmer’s Weekend Market in Sumulong Park in Antipolo City on a first-come-first serve basis starting Friday, August 2.
However, they will only be allowed to buy a maximum of five kilos of rice. The weekend market will also sell freshly harvested agricultural products such as organic vegetables and fruits.
Most of the products are sourced from the city’s upland villages and were harvested by the members of the indigenous communities of the Dumagats themselves.
The office of City Mayor Casimiro "Junjun" Ynares III also said that the targeted beneficiaries should bring a valid ID to avail of the low-priced rice from the Department of Agriculture.
The city’s weekend market is open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. from Friday until Sunday but the availability of the budget-friendly rice depends on the stocks, according to the city government.
The target sector beneficiaries should bring the owner’s valid ID and a one-ID per person policy would be strictly implemented.
Mayor Ynares said the city government is thankful that the ₱29 per kilo of rice program of President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. has reached Antipolo City as many city residents as well as those from the other towns of the province would benefit from it.
