The Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) has 94 new recruits who are training as corrections officers 1 at the Corrections National Training Institute (CNTI) in Muntinlupa City.
In a statement, BuCor said that the recruits -- 80 males and 14 females -- started their training last August 12 on Corrections Officer Custodial Basic Course (COCBC).”
It said that BuCor Director General Gregorio Pio P. Catapang Jr. fully supports "the comprehensive implementation of mandatory training programs as part of the bureau's ongoing modernization efforts.”
Last July 15, a total of 1,085 newly hired personnel took their oaths as CO1s after having undergone training at the CNTI.
Of the new corrections officers, 349 were assigned to the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City; 200 at the Davao Prison and Penal Farm (DPPF), 200 at the Iwahig Prison and Penal Farm (IPPF), 100 at the San Ramon Prison and Penal Farm (SRPPF), 140 at the Leyte Regional Prison (LRP), and 96 at the Sablayan Prison and Penal Farm (SPPF), BuCo
