NBI undergoes revamp 'to enhance efficiency, effectiveness'

Director Jaime B. Santiago of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) said the recent reorganization at the bureau "was aimed at enhancing the agency's operational efficiency and effectiveness to better serve the public."

The reorganization was contained in Memorandum Order No. 22, series of 2024, issued by Santiago.

Under the memorandum, NBI officials who were designated to their new posts were:

Deputy Director for Operations Antonio M. Pagatpat; Deputy Director for Administration Jose Justo S. Yap; Assistant Director for Investigation Service Angelito DLP. Magno; Assistant Director for Intelligence Service Glenn A. Ricarte; Assistant Director for Forensic and Scientific Research Service Romel T. Papa; Assistant Director for Information and Communications Technology Service Jose D. Doloiras; Assistant Director for Comptroller Service Noel C. Bocaling; Regional Director Janet M. Francisco, Officer-in-Charge, Assistant Director for Human Resource and Management Service; and Office of the Director Chief of Staff Atty. Joel M. Tover, who is also Officer-in-Charge, Assistant Director for Legal Service.

Santiago said the reorganization "is focused on fostering more agile and high-yielding organizational framework to meet the evolving needs of the Bureau’s stakeholders, and fulfilling its mission with excellence."

He assured that "the NBI will continue to provide unparalleled public service, enforce laws impartially, uphold justice, and maintain transparency and accountability."

The reorganization was done after the mandatory retirement of Assistant Director Vicente De Guzman III last August 5, he said.
