Many exit frames fade away from the scene, never to be heard of again, except when caught in dire, unfortunate circumstances.

Not so with former actress Miya Nolasco, who was launched to stardom in 1996 by way of an Elwood Perez film, Reputasyon.

Miya recently re-emerged, this time happily as a businesswoman. She is the woman behind Danny's Cafe and Restaurant and Gracetique Salon for Men and Women located at 8612 Aseana in Paranaque City.

Miya and her business partner, her mother, and former movie producer, Ms. Gina Nolasco of Nolasco Visual Arts, entertained guests, including some from the media, during the twin outfits’ joint opening.

Spotted at the special event were Elwood Perez and BG Productions president, Ms. Baby Go.

Asked if she would act again, Miya didn’t hide her excitement. She said she’s already 46 and is willing to do mother roles.

“But, it really depends on what roles shall come my way,” she said as she looked at Joey Sarmiento, her current manager.  She considers having acted opposite the late movie queen, Amalia Fuentes, in Reputasyon as one of the most memorable moments in her life as an actress.

Miya started at age 12 as a model for the popular 70s-80s clothesline Cinderella. Aside from Reputasyon, she did three other films, Manila Girl, Mapagbigay, and Unang Tibok.

Miya is now a single mom to five children. Aside from her family, her focus is on being a successful businesswoman.

She says owning and running a salon has been a childhood dream of hers. “I like the idea of beautifying myself, and other people as well. Our salon offers more than just the basic services such as facials, haircut, massage.”
