ILOILO CITY – The Army 3rd Infantry Division has identified the five New People’s Army rebels killed in a clash in Calinog, Iloilo, on Thursday, August 8.

Lt. Col. J-Jay Javines, 3rd ID spokesperson, said they were able to identify the remains based on information from former NPA rebels and family members.
The fatalities in the gun battle with the 12th IB in Barangay Aglonok were Aurelio Berjes Bosque of Calinog; Jovelyn Silverio of Pandan town, Antique province; Armando Rogelio Sabares, Rumulo Ituriaga Gangoso of Capiz province, and Jielmor Gauranoc of Antique.
The 57-year-old Bosque, alias Burnok, Bayjan, Sarco, and Boy, was a member of the regional headquarters of the NPA executive command for its regional headquarters in Panay. He was also a member of Bayan Panay in the early 2000s.
The amazon Silverio, alias Darylyn, Kaykay, Akay, and Porang, was said to be the platoon supply officer of the NPA regional headquarters. She was also identified as one of the NPA rebels who attacked the Maasin, Iloilo police station and disarmed lawmen in June 2017.
A bomb expert, Sabares, in his early 60s and alias Kamlon, Nene, Kulot, and Nono, was from San Joaquin, Iloilo.
Recovered in the encounter was high-powered firearms.
