Suspect in killing of 2 minors arrested in Davao del Norte -- NBI
A man, who was suspected of killing two minors, has been arrested in Davao del Norte and seized from him were a gun and explosive device, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) said.
In a statement, the NBI identified him as Allen Abdul Indanan who was arrested by operatives of the NBI South Eastern Mindanao Regional Office (SEMRO) last July 22 in Barangay Camudmud, Babak District of the Island Garden City of Samal (IGACOS).
The NBI said that "Indanan is believed to be the gunman in the shooting incident that resulted in the deaths of two minors, Eloy C. Udtohan and Filmor Morato.”
He was arrested during the service of a search warrant issued by Panabo City regional trial court (RTC).
“During the arrest, authorities recovered one (1) caliber .45 gun and one (1) unidentified explosive from Indanan's possession,” the bureau said.
“The explosive has been submitted to the Philippine National Police Explosive Ordnance Disposal (PNP-EOD) for examination,” it added.
Following his arrest, Indanan was presented for inquest for violations of Republic Act (RA) No. 10591, the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, and for illegal possession of explosives under RA 9516.
