
At least sixteen public schools in Cainta, Rizal have moved the opening of classes to August 5.
In its advisory, the Cainta Municipal Government announced that the following schools have deferred the opening of classes from July 29 to August 5:

Balanti U-1 Elementary School
Exodus Elementary School
F.P. Felix U-1 Elementary School
Halang Elementary School
Cainta Elementary School
Karangalan Elementary School
Planters Elementary School
San Francisco Elementary School
St. Anthony Elementary School
St. Gregory Elementary School
St. Joseph Elementary School
Gov. Isidro High School
F.P. Felix MN High School
F. P. Felix MNHS-Karangalan
San Juan National High School
The office of Cainta Mayor Elen Nieto also reminded the students and faculty members that face-to-face modality will be implemented in the following schools which will open as scheduled on July 29:
Arinda Elementary School
F.P. Felix Elementary School
Kabisig Elementary School
Jansenville Elementary School
San Juan U-1 Elementary School
San Juan Elementary School
Marick Elementary School and
F.P. Felix MNHS JICA
Cainta, along with 13 other municipalities and Antipolo, have been placed under a state of calamity based on Sangguniang Panlalawigan Resolution No. 460- 2024 which was approved on July 25, 2024, following the effect of the enhanced Habagat (southwest monsoon) triggered by Super Typhoon Carina.
Severe flooding rendered most of the roads in Cainta impassable and villages in the town submerged.
In other parts of the province, at least 21 schools in Rodriguez, 21 in San Mateo, and one school in Antipolo City also moved the opening of classes to August 5.
