At 70, Sen. Lito Lapid admits he sometimes gets nervous before pulling off a stunt on the TV series FPJ’s Batang Quiapo. He portrays Supremo (Primo) in the year-old ABS-CBN series.

“Yung pagtalun-talon, kaya ng isip ko, pero baka hindi ng katawan ko,” the moonlighting actor told a recent mediacon.

Nonetheless, the 70s-80s top action star continues to do his own stunts on the high-rating teleserye starring Coco Martin. He also serves as the show’s stunt director.

As to the status of his health, Lapid said he’s still maintenance-free and tries to live healthy. “Pag may time, nag-eensayo rin ako.”

Lapid ranked 7th  in the lineup of 12 with a percentage rating of 40.08 in a recent (June) survey conducted by Tangere on possible senators-to-be in the 2025 midterm elections. The veteran actor-turned-politician said he is grateful to the public for their continuous love and support for him.

Leading the winnable list is ACT-CIS Partylist Rep. Erwin T. Tulfo, with 57 percent.

Sen. Lapid took advantage of the Senate break to go around the countryside to distribute aid to senior citizens, PWDs, single parents, TODA drivers, farmers and fishermen, and students.

Gratitude is one good trait we see in Sen. Lapid, who has not forgotten to look back and thank those who supported him along the way.

He said humbly that while he may need to be better versed in English, being only a high school graduate, he makes up for this by helping people. He thinks this is the secret behind his popularity as a public servant.
