Criminal charges filed vs 2 Chinese nationals arrested during raid of Lucky South 99 POGO in Pampanga
Criminal complaints were filed before the Department of Justice (DOJ) on Tuesday, July 2, against two Chinese nationals who were arrested during the raid of Lucky South 99 Corporation, a facility of Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) in Angeles City in Pampanga.
Deputy City Prosecutor Darwin Canete said the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) led the filing of the complaints against Chinese nationals Qin Ren Guo, 37, and Jian Shi Guang who were accused of violations of Section 4a of Republic Act (RA) 10364, the Anti Human Trafficking Act; and for robbery with violence or intimidation of persons, serious physical injuries, and kidnapping and serious illegal detention in violations of Revised Penal Code (RPC).
Canete said the two Chinese nationals are already detained because they also violated immigration laws. They are under the custory of the PAOCC.
The accusations were lodged against the two Chinese nationals by two complainants, also Chinese nationals, whose names were not revealed.
Canete said that one of the complainants was found by government law enforcers to have been beaten and restrained at a bed frame inside a locked room of the compound.
“They put workers here from abroad to work in these POGO hubs by force or intimidation,” he said.
He added that more cases will be filed in connection with the raided Lucky South 99 Corporation.
