Food enthusiasts and health-conscious individuals in Makati now have a new haven to explore. Joel's Place, a contemporary grocerant—a grocery store that also offers prepared meals for dining in or taking out—has opened its second location on the ground floor of Rustan's Makati, Glorietta 4.
Since its inaugural launch at The Proscenium Retail Row in Rockwell, Joel’s Place has become a beloved neighborhood space where shoppers enjoy an elevated retail experience.
“We are very excited for the opportunity to expand Joel’s Place at one of Makati’s prominent landmarks. Nestled in the Central Business District, we hope to be a source of delight and refreshment to nearby residents and the busy Filipino workforce. Whether it be a coffee-to-go, a hearty snack, or gourmet ingredients for their delicious home-cooked meals, we want our patrons to feel our neighborly care and the warmth of home through our service,” shared Donnie Tantoco, Joel’s Place CEO and President, during the grand opening day of the grocerant last July 10, 2024.
Named after his late brother, Joel, who loved Paris, Donnie explained that the concept of the place is spurned from the lifestyle of Parisians, how they shop and dine.
Joel's Place aims to elevate the grocery shopping experience by offering everyday luxuries in a warm and inviting atmosphere, shared Donnie Tantoco during the event. According to him, by combining a focus on fresh, high-quality ingredients, delicious prepared foods, and a strong sense of community, Joel's Place positions itself as a destination for those seeking a healthier and happier way of life.
Fresh produce and global finds
Stepping into Joel's Place, customers are greeted by an extensive selection of local and international produce at The Grocer. From Guimaras mangoes and Pangasinan tomatoes to authentic Japanese melons and Spanish bell peppers, the focus is on fresh, seasonal ingredients.
Beyond everyday essentials, The Grocer also boasts gourmet pantry staples, breakfast items, and healthy alternatives like gluten-free and plant-based choices.

Shoppers can find exceptional quality meats and seafood at The Butcher and The Fishmonger. The Butcher offers Angus beef, Wagyu, lamb, and a variety of poultry, while The Fishmonger prioritizes sustainable sourcing with a wide array of fresh, local, and imported options.
For those seeking a quick and satisfying meal, The Deli offers a selection of sandwiches, salads, pasta dishes, and daily specials. Pair your meal with fresh juices from The Juicer, a cup of coffee from The Barista, or delectable pastries and desserts from The Baker.
Those with a sweet tooth won't be disappointed. The Gelateria serves creamy gelato crafted by award-winning pastry chef Miko Aspiras, offering a perfect way to end a meal or indulge in a solo treat.
A place to connect and unwind
Joel's Place also goes beyond just shopping. The cafe area provides a welcoming space to dine in and enjoy your purchases or grab a table and connect with fellow food enthusiasts.
The store also features The Sommelier, offering a curated selection of local and international wines and liquors. Additionally, The Dairy and The Charcutier provide cheese and charcuterie platters, allowing customers to create a complete dining experience.
Joel’s Place is open Mondays to Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Fridays to Sundays from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., and is located at the G/F Rustan’s Makati, Ayala Center.
