The National Finance Congress, organized by the Management of Financial Institutions Association (MaFIA) at De La Salle University, stands out as its flagship event dedicated to enhancing awareness and knowledge within the finance industry. Now entering its 12th year, the Congress continues to serve as a crucial platform for aspiring individuals in finance, providing a critical venue to explore the latest trends, challenges, and opportunities shaping the sector.

In today's digital era, technological advancements drive business innovation and financial investments, providing diverse opportunities to expand financial portfolios. However, access to financial tools and education remains a challenge for many. Through informative presentations and panel discussions, the National Finance Congress aims to bridge this gap. It will focus on bridging the gap between financial literacy and resilience by providing students, young professionals, and industry experts with an opportunity to deepen their understanding of risk management and financial investments. Participants will engage in discussions and gain insightful knowledge that can help them build financial resilience.

National Finance Congress 2024: Charting the future towards financial resiliency

The event will feature a two-part seminar with insights from a variety of industry experts. Save the date for July 13, 2024, at the Natividad Fajardo-Rosales Gonzalez Auditorium, 18th Floor, Bro. Andrew Gonzalez Hall. Through enhancing financial literacy and professional competence, the Congress empowers attendees to become knowledgeable and prepared finance professionals, building a future-ready community.

The seminar will begin with a morning session from 9 a.m. to 12:45 p.m centered around "Financial Risk Management." Hakimi Harun, head of Financial Crime & Fraud Prevention at ING Hubs Philippines, will lead discussions on strategies to mitigate financial crime and fraud risks. Following him, Mon Alvin Galang, CyberSecurity head at GoTyme Bank, will discuss cyber resilience in banks' IT systems. The morning will conclude with Lito Villanueva, Executive Vice president and chief Innovations & Inclusion Officer at RCBC and Founding Chairman of FinTech Alliance.PH, exploring the application of machine learning in portfolio risk management.

In the afternoon session, scheduled from 2 p.m. to 5:45 p.m., the focus will shift to "Financial Investments." Andoy Beltran, Vice President of First Metro Securities Brokerage Corporation (Metrobank Group), will explore the digital frontier of real estate investment trusts. Next, Floi Wycoco, Senior Campaigns Manager at Coins.ph and Founder of The Global Filipino Investors, will delve into navigating market volatility in cryptocurrency investments. Finally, Christian G. Lauron, Partner and Financial Services Organization (FSO) Leader at SGV & Co. will share insights on leveraging machine learning for enhanced portfolio and risk management strategies.

Each session promises deep insights and practical knowledge from industry leaders at the forefront of financial risk management and investment strategies.
