K-pop group iKON's Bobby starts military service
Bobby, 28, a member of K-pop boy band iKON, started his military service on June 4, a mandatory duty for all Korean men.
In April this year, iKON held their “2024 iKON Limited Tour–Get Back in Manila” as their last concert before members started their military service.

Bobby’s original enlistment date was May 21 but it was changed as he was classified as a full-time reserve soldier. He was reportedly selected first as a full-time reserve because he is a caregiver for his child. He got married in 2021 and has a son.
“The term ‘full-time reserve service’ means personnel who are called up and perform active duty service to support regional defense and the affairs related thereto, after having performed active service as an active duty serviceman for a specified period and then having been assigned to reserve service,” according to Korea’s Military Service Act law.
He is the third member of iKON to enlist in the military. Jinhwan has been serving in the military since July last year. Chan-woo enlisted on May 27 this year.
Bobby debuted in iKON in 2015 and released his third studio album last February.
He will be discharged on Dec. 3, 2025.
