DOJ renders legal aid, frontline services at Rizal Park June 10 and 11

The Department of Justice (DOJ) started today, June 10, rendering free legal aid and frontline services to the public at the Rizal Park in Manila until tomorrow, June 11, as part of the 126th Philippine Independence Day celebration on June 12.

In a statement, the DOJ said its Action Center (DOJAC) and the Public Attorney's Office (PAO) will be offering free legal services and assistance to walk-in clients while the Board of Claims (BOC) will render assistance to victims compensation applications and queries.

It said the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) will be processing clearance applications while the Bureau of Immigration will render assistance for tourist online visa applications.

Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin C. Remulla said: "The DOJ remains committed and united with the Marcos Administration in forging a future where our collective resilience triumphs over any adversity, our forefathers fought hard for the independence we cherish today and it is our time to do the same to protect it for the future of the next generations.”

The DOJ has also started a month-long caravan in Marawi City that started last June 3 and will end on July 3. The caravan “offers free legal services to victims of the 2017 Marawi seige and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in filing their claims under Republic Act No. 11696, the Marawi Seige Compensation Act of 2022.”
