Five things to know from the 2024 PFIP workplace report

PFIP champions LGBTQ+ workplace inclusivity

PFIP, founded in 2013, promotes LGBTQ+ inclusivity at work. It's a non-profit made up of LGBTQ+ employees and HR experts from private Filipino companies. They push for fair treatment of LGBTQ+ workers, aiming for workplaces where they feel safe and respected, free from discrimination and harassment based on gender.

DE&I policies are advancing in the local workplace

Leaders, HR staff, DE&I supporters, and LGBTQ+ individuals joined an event. They talked about a report showing how they're working together to make workplaces in the Philippines more inclusive. Expert panels and LGBTQ+ advocates also shared their experiences and tips for creating welcoming work environments.

Companies are becoming inclusive for everyone

The 2024 PFIP LGBTQ+ Workplace Inclusion report showed that companies like Aboitiz Power Corporation, Cebu Pacific, GCash, and JP Morgan Chase & Co. are doing a good job at including LGBTQ+ people. They have rules that treat LGBTQ+ employees the same as others, giving them the same benefits. They also have ways to stop bullying and discrimination at work, and they support LGBTQ+ employees with groups and networks.

Many programs advocate for LGBTQ+ workplace inclusion

Various initiatives promote LGBTQ+ inclusion in the workplace. For example, the Pride Summit allows industry leaders to discuss diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) strategies. The Rainbow Youth Academy helps LGBTQ+ youth by offering job training, financial support, and internships. Additionally, educational courses like "Trans 101" and "Understanding Unconscious Bias" offer more insight into LGBTQ+ issues.

PFIP stays dedicated to improving workplace diversity

PFIP made a real difference in how LGBTQ+ employees feel at work, helping them feel more included and satisfied. This has led to more LGBTQ+ people being hired and promoted in member companies.
