107 Bilibid's PDLs transferred to Leyte Regional Prison

A total of 107 persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) had been transferred to the Leyte Regional Prison (LRP) to further decongest the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) in Muntinlupa City.

In a statement, the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) said  the 107 NBP's PDLs were transferred to LRP in three buses escorted by security personnel last Saturday, May 4. 

“The newly transferred PDLs had undergone proper turn-over procedures such as accounting and inspection. The belongings of the PDLs were also inspected by the K9 units to preempt possible entry of illegal drugs inside the camps,” BuCor said. 

On top of the 107 PDLs sent to LRP, a total of 3,993 Bilibid's PDLs had been transferred to prison facilities outside Metro Manila as of April 21, 2024.
