House Deputy Speaker Quezon 2nd district Rep. David "Jay-jay" Suarez can't help but wonder how Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) church leader, Pastor Apollo Quiboloy has managed to elude arrest despite the manhunt launched by authorities against him.

"My bigger concern is bakit hindi pa nahahanap si Quiboloy? (Why haven't we found Quiboloy?) We’ve been on a manhunt for how many months already," a rather incredulous Suarez said during a press conference Monday, May 6.

"I know thew Senate had already issued a warrant against him. The PNP (Philippine National Police) has been looking for him, the NBI (National Bureau of Investigation) has been looking for him," Suarez said of Quiboloy, who refers to himself as the "Appointed Son of God".

"So, I think the bigger question is where is Pastor Apollo Quiboloy. I think that’s the bigger question we need to ask," added Suarez.

It was early last month when a warrant of arrest against the controversial church leader was issued by a Davao Regional Trial Court (RTC).

Suarez said Quiboloy's refusal to surface shows his lack of respect to the various institutions of government.

"Pinakikita niya rin na (He is also showing that) he has no [regard] whatsover when it comes to the laws that govern the Philippines," the congressman from Quezon said.

"So, this is also a gentle call-out to our law enforcement agencies to implement, look for him (Quiboloy) and put him in proper custody so that we can fully progress into the legal proceedings when it comes to the cases that he is now facing," Suarez said.
