Face-to-face classes in over 7,300 schools were suspended on Monday, May 6, based on the monitoring by the Department of Education (DepEd).
DepEd’s latest data showed 7,372 out of 47,678 schools nationwide shifted to Alternative Delivery Mode (ADM) after suspending face-to-face classes amid the intense heat experienced in many parts of the country.

Region 6 has the most schools that suspended face-to-face classes with 1,740, followed by Region 5 with 1,193 and Region 3 with 978.
The schools in the following regions also shifted to ADMs due to extreme heat: Region 1 - 287 schools; Region 2 - 341 schools; Region 4A - 122 schools; Region 4B - 467 schools; Region 7 - 482 schools; Region 8 - 80 schools; Region 9 - 676 schools; Region 10 - 108 schools; Region 11 - 12 schools; Region 12 - 366 schools; Region 13 - one school; CAR - 262 schools and Metro Manila - 257 schools.
