PRO 13-Regional Public Information Office chief Police Major Jennifer S. Ometer said the activity was in line with the guidance of PNP chief Police Gen. Rommel Francisco D. Marbil to prepare early for the rainy season as well as equip and train police personnel to respond to natural catastrophes and calamities in the country.

The PRO-13 command group, regional staff, police commissioned officers, police non-commissioned officers, Reactionary Standby Support Force (RSSF), Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB)-13, Agusan del Norte Police Provincial Office (ADNPPO), and Butuan City Police Office (BCPO) participated in the event wearing their search and rescue (SAR) uniforms.

A total of 248 search, rescue, and retrieval equipment from RMFB-13, 121 from ADNPPO, and 57 from BCPO were inspected.

“We can see today on how prepared our field units when disaster comes in different places in our region,” PRO-13 Director Police Brig. Gen. Alan M. Nazarro said.

“We have to ensure that we are more than ready to respond in times of catastrophes or disasters,” he said, adding “as first responders, we have the responsibility to save lives and properties.”
