Garmin's FDA-cleared ECG App is now available in the Philippines and is accessible on several Garmin smartwatch models in the country.  Designed to enhance the health monitoring capabilities of its smartwatches, the ECG app will allow users to record their heart rhythm and check for signs of atrial fibrillation (AFib) right from their compatible Garmin smartwatch.

The ECG App uses sensors embedded in the smartwatch.  For 30 seconds, the app will measure the heart's electrical impulses and generate an electrocardiogram (ECG).  The app will then analyze to show the heart rate and identify irregular rhythms, particularly AFib (irregular heart rhythm).

Here is how to get started:

  1. Simply download the app or update the Garmin smartphone app to its latest version.
  2. Follow the instructions within the app on how to install the ECG feature in your Garmin smartwatch.
  3. Take the 30-second ECG recording.
  4. View results immediately from your watch or sync the results to the Garmin Connect app available for download on the App Store and Google Play Store.
  5. Review the history of results and generate reports that you can share with your healthcare providers.

The ECG App is available on the following Garmin smartwatches:

  1.  epix Pro series
  2.  fēnix 7 Pro series
  3.  Venu 2 Plus
  4.  Venu 3 series
  5.  tactix 7 - AMOLED Edition smartwatches
