Brace for a rainy weekend due to tropical depression “Aghon,” trough or extension of the tropical cyclone, and southwesterly surface wind flow.

In its weekly weather outlook released on Friday, May 24, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Aghon will bring stormy weather over Eastern Visayas and the eastern section of Southern Luzon from Saturday to Sunday, May 25 to 26.

Some portions of Central Visayas may also experience rains and wind gusts due to the tropical depression.

Meanwhile, cloudy weather with scattered rain showers or thunderstorms may prevail over the rest of the country due to Aghon’s trough.

By Monday, May 27, while Aghon will begin to “recurve” northeastward, it is likely to enhance the southwesterly surface wind flow, which will cause cloudy skies with scattered rain showers or thunderstorms across the archipelago.

This weather scenario may persist until Tuesday, May 28, PAGASA said.

From Wednesday to Friday, May 29 to 31, Northern and Central Luzon will be cloudy with scattered rain showers or thunderstorms due to the southwesterly surface wind flow.

The rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, particularly in the afternoon or evening.
