The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said 28 areas may still experience a heat index that is considered “dangerous” on Monday, May 26.

The heat index in Guiuan, Eastern Samar, where the state weather bureau recorded 55 degrees Celsius (°C) on May 26—the highest since 2024—may reach 46°C on Monday.

Meanwhile, it may reach 45°C in Borongan, Eastern Samar, and Zamboanga City, Zamboanga Del Sur.

Laoag City, Ilocos Norte; Catarman, Northern Samar; Catbalogan, Samar; Tacloban City, Leyte; Maasin, Southern Leyte; Laguindingan Airport, Misamis Oriental; Surigao City, Surigao Del Norte; and Butuan City, Agusan Del Norte may experience a 44°C heat index.
PAGASA added that MMSU, Batac, Ilocos Norte; Tuguegarao City, Cagayan; Puerto Princesa City, Palawan; Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental; Panglao International Airport, Bohol; and Siquijor, Siquijor may have a heat index of 43°C.
Meanwhile, a 42°C heat index may be recorded in Sinait, Ilocos Sur; Dagupan City, Pangasinan; Bacnotan, La Union; Aparri, Cagayan; Cuyo, Palawan; Virac (Synop), Catanduanes; Masbate City, Masbate; Mactan International Airport, Cebu; Dipolog, Zamboanga Del Norte; Davao City, Davao Del Sur; and Cotabato City, Maguindanao.
