CAVITE – The local government unit (LGU) of Indang will implement a four-day workweek due to the extreme heat.

Executive Order No. 18, Series of 2024, signed by Mayor Perfecto Fidel, states that the compressed workweek scheme will start on May 6 and last until July 31.

Government offices in the municipality will adopt a work schedule of 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. from Monday to Thursday to help ensure employees' health and well-being amid the hot temperatures.

Several departments, however, will maintain a regular work schedule to ensure continuity of public service. These include the following:

  • Office of the Municipal Health Officer
  • Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office
  • Office of the Municipal Treasurer (Fee collectors)
  • Office of the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Officer (Garbage collectors and street sweepers)
  • Public Market and Slaughterhouse Office
  • Security Personnel and Radio Operators
  • Administrative Aides (Utility workers assigned at the Municipal Building)

The Cavite Provincial Government and the Bacoor City Government have also adopted a compressed workweek schedule amid the extremely high temperatures being recorded during the dry season.
