Cavite adopts 4-day work week until July due to extreme heat

CAVITE – The provincial government is adopting a four-day work week amid the extremely high temperatures being recorded during the dry season.

Executive Order No. 19 Series of 2024, signed by Gov. Jonvic Remulla on Friday, April 26, states that the compressed workweek will be implemented from April 29 to July 31.

Under the four-day work week scheme, government offices will adopt a work schedule of 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. from Monday to Thursday.

Specific government offices, meanwhile, will continue to observe a regular work schedule to ensure the continuity of service. These offices include:

  • Office of the Provincial Health Officer and all provincially supervised hospitals
  • Cavite Provincial Jail
  • Office of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer
  • Cavite Office of Public Safety
  • Road Safety Division
  • Office of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer
  • Office of the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources

On April 18, the city government of Bacoor also announced the implementation of a four-day work week until August 31.
