Angono LGU recognizes the town's latest centenarian grandma

A grandmother in Angono, Rizal has been recognized by the local government for her longevity following her 100th birthday recently.
Officials of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Region 4-A and the Angono Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) gifted Gregoria Reyes, a resident of Aurora Subdivision, Barangay Kalayaan, with the mandated P100,000 cash incentive for the centenarians.
Through the MSWDO, Angono Mayor Jeri Mae Calderon also gave Reyes a certificate of recognition for her longevity and bringing good memories to her family.
Reyes, who celebrated her 100th year on April 7, is the third living centenarian in the Art Capital of the Country, according to the information from the MSWDO.
Reyes, along with other recently turned centenarians in the province of Rizal await the official recognition from the national government, including a felicitation letter from President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. as mandated by the Centenarians Act of 2016.
