I first met Palayan City Nueva Ecija Councilor Alvin Magtalas and his wife, Filipina, in our now-defunct online program Take It Per Minute Meganon. (crush ko yang si Papa Alvin ha!) They were our number 1 supporters in the show. (kaya feeling close ako!) When I learned their son Beaver Magtalas is now in showbiz, I immediately extended my full support! (lalo na si ate mo Salve, di ba nay Lolit?!)

On May 22, Beaver’s movie, "When Magic Hurts," with Mutya Orquia and Maxine Trinidad, will be shown in cinemas nationwide. (may pa-triangle ba ito?!) In preparation, they have staged a premiere night and several promotional activities here in Manila. (hindi basta basta!) But since the Magtalas family comes from Nueva Ecija, they decided to organize another set of events in Cabanatuan for their kababayans. (may budget!)

Last week, the entire cast, including the charming Beaver, the talented Mutya, and the lovely Maxine, took time out to join a motorcade. (kebs sa mainit na panahon!) Last Sunday, they graced a series of advanced screenings at the NE Pacific Mall. (daming inarkilang sinehan ha!) The organizers even extended a special invitation to me and my fellow Marites University hosts Rose Garcia, Jun Nardo, and Ambet Nabus  to host one of the events. (lakas maka-mall show hosts !)  Before the glitz and glamour of the red carpet, we had the privilege of sitting down with the stars for a mini-talk show, making us feel truly part of the magic.

Most of the cast members were present, including actress Claudine Barretto, who had a special appearance in the movie. (napa-fly ang lola mo sa ecija!) Filipina mentioned that the whole production is thankful to Optimum Star for always agreeing to their requests for the film. (waley attitude!) Claudine considers the movie special because it used Got To Believe as its theme song. (yan yung title ng box office hit nila ng namayapang Rico Yan) She even allowed her daughter Aryanna to act in the film. (bakit ako di naisama?!)

"When Magic Hurts" depicts drama and romance. (wait nyo yung magic!) It also features the amazing sceneries of Baguio and Atok,  Benguet. (paandaran ng location ha!) Dennis Padilla, Soliman Cruz, Archie Adamos, Angelica Jones, Aileen Papin, and Dennah Bautista play important roles in the film.  (check nyo nalang sino ang ma-hu-hurt!)
