2 foreigners intercepted at NAIA, Clark Airport in Pampanga
Two foreigners, a Chinese and a Singaporean, were intercepted and arrested by immigration officers at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) and at the Clark International Airport (CIA) last May 9, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) said on Wednesday, May 15.
In a statement, the BI identified the Chinese national as Xue Gang, 33, who was intercepted at NAIA last May 9 before he could board his flight to Guangzhou, China.
“Xue was barred from leaving after he was found to be on the BI’s derogatory list of foreigners who are wanted for involvement in cyber fraud activities,” the BI said.
Also intercepted and arrested upon his arrival at CIA was Singaporean national Mohamed Faisal Ahmad Kamal, 45. Immigration officers found that Kamal "is using a tampered passport."
"Ahmad Kamal was found to have detached pages in his passport in an attempt to hide previous travels to the Philippines," the BI said.
“Ahmad Kamal’s travel was also being monitored by officers after he was suspected of escorting a Filipina worker out of the country last April 28 to Singapore. Officers believe that the woman was recruited to work as an entertainer in the said country,” it said.
The two foreigners are now detained at the BI's facility in Taguig City pending their deportation.
