Five co-accused of Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) founder Apollo C. Quiboloy on charges of child abuse, exploitation and discrimination filed before the Davao City regional trial court (RTC) have posted bail.
The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) identified them as Cresente Canada, Paulene, Canada, Sylvia Cemanes, Jackielyn W. Roy, and Ingrid C. Canada who were charged with maltreatment. They posted bail of P80,000 each for their provisional liberty.
On the other hand, Quiboloy -- the principal accused -- has remained at large despite the arrest order issued by the Davao City RTC last April 1.
He and his co-accused were charged with violations of Sections 10(a) and 5(b) of Republic Act (RA) No. 7610, the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act, over the alleged sexual abuses committed in 2011 against a female who was then 17 years old.
The NBI said it will continue its operations to locate and arrest Quiboloy.
“The NBI assured the public that it will not stop tracking Quiboloy until justice is served,” it said.
Last April 3, the NBI Southeastern Mindanao Regional Office (NBI-SEMRO) conducted joint operations with the Philippine National Police (PNP) in implementing search warrants in three locations in Davao City where Quiboloy reportedly can be found.
“During the implementation of the Warrant of Arrest, Apollo Quiboloy was nowhere to be found in the areas subject of the warrant,” the NBI said.
It said that Cresente was found and arrested in Barangay Tamayong in Calinan, Davao City. Later, it said that Paulene and Sylvia appeared before the NBI-SEMRO office in Davao City and voluntarily surrendered.
On April 4, the bureau said Jackielyn and Ingrid also appeared before the NBI-SEMRO office and surrendered themselves voluntarily.
