A suspected illegal drugs trader has been arrested in Makati City and about P3 million worth of "shabu" has been seized by agents of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).
In a statement, the NBI identified the suspect as Rocky Borongosan Apakil who was arrested in his condominium unit last April 3 during the operation conducted by the NBI Organized and Transnational Crimes Division (NBI-OTCD).
“Seized items from the subject were two (2) One Thousand Peso Bills marked money, and knot-tied plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance that has an approximate weight of 488.1464 grams with an estimated street market value of P3,000,000,” the NBI said.
It said it acted on "the information that subject Apakil was selling illegal drugs in his residence.”
After his arrest, Apakil was presented for inquest before the Makati City Prosecutor’s Office for violations of Article II, Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act. 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
