BI warns vs fake immigration agents

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) on Wednesday, April 3, warned the public against fake immigration agents, who have been reported harassing and extorting from foreigners, according to BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco.

 

Tansingco disclosed that, just recently, a request was made to verify a mission order allegedly issued by the BI that targeted foreigners in Makati City.

 

“No such order was issued by the BI,” declared the commissioner.

 

Tansingco explained mission orders against foreign nationals are always specific, and cannot be used to harass foreigners.

 

Meanwhile, the commissioner advised foreigners to always seek verifications about mission orders with the bureau.
