Revilla brothers pay tribute to 'idol, teacher' Barzaga

Cavite 1st district Rep. Jolo Revilla and AGIMAT Party-list Rep. Bryan Revilla took to Facebook Saturday afternoon, April 27 to pay their sweet tributes to their late province-mate, Rep. Elpidio "Pidi" Barzaga Jr. of Dasmariñas City. 

Jolo's post came with a photo of Rep. Barzaga on his hospital bed. The latter flew to the United States (US) last October to undergo heart surgery. 

"Nakakalungkot na balita ang aming natanggap, pumanaw na ang kinatawan ng ika-4 na Distrito ng Cavite, Cong Pidi Barzaga. Nakikiramay ang aming buong pamilya sa inyong pagpanaw, may your soul rest in peace. 🙏," he wrote. 

(We received saddening news: Cavite's 4th district representative, Cong Pidi Barzaga, has passed away. My entire family condoles with your passing, may your soul rest in peace.) 

"Si Cong Pidi ay isa sa mga haligi ng Cavite at nakita natin kung paano niya ibinuhos ang kanyang oras at buhay para sa ikauunlad ng Dasmariñas City, isa sa aking mga iniidolo at kinikilalang Ama na din sa pagseserbisyo," added Jolo. 

(Cong Pidi is one of the pillars of Cavite and we saw how he poured his time and his life for the progress of Dasmariñas City, he is one of my idols and father figures when it comes to public service.) 

Bryan similarly gave high praise to Rep. Barzaga, and said that jt was an honor to work alongside him.

"Your leadership is a great example of how public service should be, the people of Dasmariñas is very lucky to have Cong. Pidi. Walang Agimat Party-list kung walang Cong. Pidi na sumuporta sa atin," he said. 

(There's no Agimat Party-list had there been no Cong Pidi to support me.)

"Hinding hindi ko makakalimutan ang lahat ng magagandang aral at bagay na ibinahagi mo sa akin." 

(I will never forget all the good lessons and things that you shared with me.) 

"You may be gone but your legacy will live on in the hearts of all Caviteños. Maraming salamat po sa lahat Cong. Pidi. Paalam," said Bryan, who also uploaded pictures of him and Rep. Barzaga.
